Dog Home Boarding Service

When your dog boards with us, they become part of our family. They’ll be staying in our cosy, welcoming home – complete with their own dedicated room to relax and unwind in peace. Most dogs seem to prefer this setup to a kennel environment… we can’t imagine why!

We’re a relaxed and flexible household, and dogs usually settle in beautifully with our easy going routine. While we don’t run on a strict schedule, your dog’s day will be full of care, companionship, and comfort. Here’s a general idea of what their time with us might look like

Secure Woodland Walks – Breakfast

Our day begins with calm woodland walks, from scent work and foraging to gentle play, encouraging natural behaviours. Animal yard duties, feeding time and mucking out. Meals are served to individual routines

Warm Country Showers

After their morning adventures, dogs enjoy warm showers and gentle drying — keeping them clean, comfortable.

Morning Collections – 11am

Dogs leave relaxed, content, and pleasantly tired, ready for a restful afternoon at home.

Rest & Reassurance

A dedicated rest period allows dogs to fully unwind.

Comfortable conservatory, low stimulation, create a secure environment for deep relaxation.

Arrivals & Settling-In

New arrivals are welcomed individually, with careful introductions and time to settle into their surroundings at their own pace.

Evening Walks & smallholding Exploration

Afternoon strolls offer fresh air whilst yard animals are checked and bedded down. This within the boundaries of our smallholding and woodlands.

So you’ve decided to go on holiday and send your dog for home boarding and you’ve had a look to see what’s out there. What’s next?

First off, the general vibe. Are the rest of the boarding dogs friendly, social and happy together? Group dynamics is an important factor to consider as well. A good home boarding should be calm, quiet and relaxed rather than noisy and chaotic.

Next, ask about the number of dogs boarding at one time. As a guide, Boggs Dogs operates on 4 dogs at an absolute maximum, although usually this is much less.

Do they have proper walks? At Boggs Dogs, our guests have a woodland walk and join in on farm duties and feeding animals.

Bearing in mind Scotland’s weather, you should also check that the dogs have a warm, dry and comfortable home in case it’s cold and raining outside. Don’t forget to bring your dog coat for those cold days.

Get them to run through a typical day. Whilst rest is an important part of your dog’s day, they should not be left for unlimited time. There should be a balance of fun and rest.

Lastly, it’s important to ask what the procedures are if a dog does not settle, gets injured, or needs to visit the vet.

Once you’ve seen first-hand exactly where your dog will spend their holiday, who they’ll be with, and what they’ll be doing, you should be in a good position to choose whether it’s a good fit or not for your beloved pooch!
