Frequently Asked Questions

+ Why do you charge a registration fee?

The registration fee helps to cover the administrative and operational costs associated with boarding your dog. It ensures that we can provide a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for all pets in our care. Additionally, the fee helps us with the following:

  • Orientation and Assessment: A comprehensive tour of our smallholding and woodland walk to familiarize your dog with the surroundings, ensuring a comfortable stay.
  • Suitability Evaluation: An assessment to determine if your dog is compatible with our boarding environment and other animals.
  • Administrative Costs: Processing and maintaining records for each dog, including compliance with licensing requirements.
  • Priority Booking: While we strive to accommodate all requests, this fee provides preference for future boarding reservations. Please note that due to high demand, we cannot guarantee availability.
+ Why do you have a check-in and check-out time?

This helps us stick to our max number of dogs (4). When one guest leaves, they make space for the next. This keeps things calm and avoids overstimulation during handovers.

+ Where would my dog sleep?

If your dog is the only one boarding, they'll sleep with Raisin in our kitchen/lounge. If more than one guest is boarding, all dogs (including Raisin) sleep in our home conservatory. It’s a peaceful shared space they all seem to love — no one is ever alone.

+ Do you board any type of dog?

We only board friendly, well-socialised dogs with good recall.

+ What dogs don’t you board?

We don’t board dogs that are aggressive, anxious and bark persistently, or have no recall. All dogs (age appropriate) must be neutered and not in season. Due to space constraints, we cannot take very large dogs.

+ Do I have to bring my own dog’s food and bedding?

Yes — food is essential. Bedding is optional, but bear in mind dogs love to swap and roll around! We provide washable beds that fit in our machine. We can’t guarantee your own bed will fit if it needs cleaning.

+ Do you give medicines to guest dogs?

Yes, provided you fill out a medical form including dosage and timing instructions.

+ Should I bring a lead and collar?

All our guests wear a Boggs Dogs collar with our phone number. We have plenty of leads, but you’re welcome to bring your own if it's special or required.

+ Do you have insurance?

Yes, we are fully covered with business insurance. However, this does not replace your own pet insurance.
